Computer equipment, accessories given to 6 Iloilo PHS recipients

Six Iloilo public high schools (PHS) recipients of i-schools project of the Commission on Information and Communications Technology (CICT) in partnership with Northern Iloilo Polytechnic State College (NIPSC) received computer equipment last February 26-28, 2008.


The equipment had been simultaneously delivered to PHS recipients namely;
1. Doña Ortencia Salas Benedicto National High School, La Carlota City, Negros Occidental
2. P.D. Monfort National High High School, Dumangas, Iloilo
3. Sara National High School, Sara, Iloilo
4. Carlos Lopez National High School, Bagacay, Iloilo
5. Balasan National High School, Balasan, Iloilo
6. and Northern Iloilo Polytechnic State College Laboratory High School, Estancia, Iloilo.

The technical representatives of NIPSC and the Advance Solutions Inc., the national supplier of i-schools project, installed 21 units of computers, 21 units of uninterrupted power supply (ups), webcams, a 3-in-1 printer and a multi-media projector in a laboratory prepared by respective public high schools.

Aside from the equipments installed, the PHS will also receive 2 air-con units for their laboratory.

Hillside Resort… A Tranquil Place for Writers

The Commission on Information and Communications Technology in partnership with Western Philippine University holds its training-workshop at Hillside Resort, Puerto Princesa, Palawan on November 14-15, 2007.

“Peace and serene place is the best venue for writers, this is why we chose this resort.” Ma’am Helen of CICT said during the opening program.

Hillside Resort is located at Sandiwa, Brgy. Tiniguiban, Puerto Princesa, Palawan. The resort has a green surrounding overlooking Puerto Princesa Bay. It is more than 3 kms. away from the city and travel time is 20 minutes.

A Filipino owned resort and has been in the business since 1995. “For almost 13 years, Hillside Resort has been a place for conventions and seminars” staff of the Resort says. “Families also done their reunions and gatherings here,” she also added.

The Resort’s conference hall can accommodate 80 persons (seminar type event) or 100 persons if it is a theater type.

It has 8 deluxe rooms, 1 family room and 3 cottages. These rooms are fully air-conditioned with private bathrooms. Added to these facilities is a swimming pool where guests can take a splash.

When the 27 participants of the Online Writing Techniques Seminar arrived ahead of the seminar date, they found the place suitable. A venue where minds and hands connect without distractions from urbanized environment.
